Employees of SMTS LLC participated in the “SAP Business Unleashed Innovation Day” forum held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. At the event, which took place at the InterContinental Tashkent hotel and was attended by more than 300 company representatives, customers and partners, SMTS LLC was represented by the company's Deputy Director Namig Nahmadov and the manager of the IT Department.
The forum began with an opening speech by Alexander Metechko, Managing Director of SAP's Eastern Europe and Central Asia cluster. This was followed by presentations from Maksim Kustarov, Director of Business Development for SAP in Uzbekistan, and Philipp Zilke, Business Director for Central and Eastern Europe at SAP. They shared their insights on SAP’s next-generation enterprise management systems and the role of artificial intelligence in business processes.
Representatives of “SMTS” LLC spoke about the practical application of cloud technologies and artificial intelligence in the digital transformation of business. As the first construction company in Azerbaijan to adopt the SAP system, they provided detailed information on their transition experience, as well as the benefits and outcomes of the transformation for the company. The participation of “SMTS” LLC in the SAP project as a construction company — including the integration of incomplete production processes and document workflows into the system — attracted great interest from forum participants. The speakers addressed attendees’ questions and expressed the company’s readiness to engage in experience sharing.
The plenary session concluded with a keynote speech by the forum’s special guest, Professor Konstantin Korotov from the European School of Management and Technology.
It should be noted that the SAP S/4HANA ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) program has been implemented at SMTS LLC since June 2024.
